For suppliers, participation in this Program will result in fewer
disruptive audits, particularly if they serve food processors that participate in the GMA Program. The SAFE Program is designed
to replace most, if not all, of them with a single, comprehensive,
annual audit, saving both time and money.

Training Schedule

The auditor certification training schedule for 2006 is listed below. Auditor training is an essential element of the SAFE Program because it calibrates the auditors by allowing them to become familiar with the GMA-SAFE Program System in an active classroom environment. It also gives company representatives the opportunity to prepare their companies for audits or strictly learn more about the SAFE Program.

To apply as an auditor, please complete the Auditor Application. Experience, educational and insurance requirements apply. (For more detail, see the Auditor Requirements section of the GMA-SAFE Policies and Procedures Manual.)

If you are interested in attending a class, but do not wish to become a SAFE Program auditor for profit, (e.g. Company Representative) you can simply submit your name, company, address, e-mail address and phone number to Jill Gerken at jgerken@fpa-food.org to apply.

The cost to attend a certification session is $995 and includes training materials, certification exam, a continental breakfast and lunch each day. Class size is limited and enrollment for qualified applicants is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Sign up today!
