The FPA-SAFE business continues to expand with audits now being conducted worldwide and a growing number of processors, food service companies and retailers are accepting SAFE as a platform for their audit requirements. In order to support this expanding business, we are both expanding the staff and changing certain responsibilities.
I am very pleased to announce that Randall (Randy) Wilkinson will be joining the FPA-SAFE team on August 14, 2006 as the Director of Audit Quality. Randy will take Bruce Becker's position and Bruce will be shifting his energies toward marketing and sales in the newly created position of Sales & Marketing Director. Kathy Wybourn will continue to develop the operations side of the business which is becoming much more intense as the number of audits grows. Kathy will continue to operate from her home in Chicago and will be establishing a 24/7 hotline service for SAFE customers who call in from all over the globe for assistance. Sherri Frye will now report to Kathy and among many other tasks will continue to run the SAFE Calling Program. We have several companies who have provided their supplier lists to us under confidentiality and Sherri is calling these suppliers to encourage and assist them in completing their SAFE audits. As you see, it is a small, but exciting and growing operation with many challenges which the team is managing.
Back to Randy, he brings over 30 years of quality assurance and auditing experience to us, having worked for a variety of companies during his career, including Banquet Frozen Foods, Tree Top, Dole Packaged Foods, Cascade Concentrates and Snokist Growers. Randy also spent 10 years at Wal-Mart Stores as Director of Food Safety, Security and Quality. Over the past two years Randy has been a consultant to SAFE, working closely with the SAFE team on audit quality issues, so he is no stranger to Bruce, Kathy, Sherri or me. He also has a great sense of humor and is a real team player, two essential elements for our team's success!
Randy currently lives in Arkansas with his wife, Verda, but we know they are looking to move to Idaho when the time is right! Randy will be in the D.C. office August 14 -1 6 for orientation and a SAFE Team meeting, so please extend him a warm welcome.
